Proposed excursions on September 21st

At the time of registration at the congress, it will be possible to join the following excursions:

Duration: 4 hours (lunch NOT included)
The panoramic tour of Cagliari is a unique opportunity to admire the city from the panoramic points and to learn more about the history of Cagliari and the island. The viewpoint on the hill of Monte Urpinu will offer you an unforgettable view of the Regional Natural Park Molentargius-Saline, one of the largest and most important wetlands in Europe where we will can admire the magnificent pink flamingos. The tour will continue to south west coast to the ancient city of Nora, one of the most important archaeological sites on the island. Its particular location on the coast facilitated the settlement of the Phoenicians in the VIII century BC, but it was in Roman times that Nora experienced its heyday. The tour will give us the opportunity to take a step back in time and immerse ourselves in the atmosphere of the ancient Roman town. The area is surrounded by a breathtaking landscape, with the Tower of Coltellazzo standing in its background, while the golden beach leads us to the church of Sant’Efisio.
The tour requires a minimum of 10 participants and a maximum of 18 participants

Duration: 8-9 hours (lunch included)
The tour will start with a visit of the San Giovanni cave, in Domusnovas, a real rarity, a karst cavity entirely accessible on foot and boasts a lighted road inside that, until a few years ago, was crossed by cars and couriers! It is a spectacular cave, rich in stalactites and stalagmites, inhabited since prehistoric times, as evidenced by the archaeological finds found over the years. The visit will continue towards Iglesias, a town of medieval origin, where we could appreciate the narrow alleys, its ancient fortifications and splendid churches in Romanic and Gothic style. Continuing towards the sea, we'll discover the wild charm of the south-western coast; the enchanting beach of Masua, overhung by imposing cliffs and overlooking a clear crystal sea, and the spectacular rocky outcrop of Pan di Zucchero, which stands out from the waters with heights over 100 meters, giving us an unparalleled thrill. In front of Pan di Zucchero finally we will visit the wondeful mine of Porto Flavia, a 600 mt long tunnel completely dug into the rock. Fascinating and unique experience to learn about one of the most important examples of industrial archaeology in Sardinia, on the paths and places of the miners, surrounded by a stunning scenery.
The tour requires a minimum of 10 participants and a maximum of 18 participants
